Madeline McKenzie

Madeline is passionate about supporting women to untangle from “good girl” conditioning—the perfectionism, people-pleasing, and chronic overthinking that often leaves them feeling burnt out, anxious, and disconnected from themselves.

She works with women who, from the outside, appear capable and in control… but inside, feel stuck in self-doubt, consumed by how others perceive them, and unsure of what they truly want or need. Many of Madeline’s clients come to therapy navigating work stress, relationship tension, low self-worth, or a lingering sense that they’re “too much” and “not enough” all at once.

Madeline’s approach is warm, playful, and trauma-informed. She knows that insight alone isn’t enough—and that true healing happens when we stop intellectualising and start feeling. In sessions, she helps clients slow down, gently explore the parts of themselves that protect, perform, and perfect, and reconnect with the parts that long to feel safe, whole, and deeply at ease.

She integrates talk therapy with EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), two evidence-based modalities that support embodied healing and nervous system regulation. Whether it’s navigating shame spirals, letting go of the need to prove your worth, or learning to set boundaries without guilt—Madeline creates a space that invites softness, curiosity, and self-trust.

Madeline holds a Master of Social Work and a Bachelor of Psychology. She is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker through the AASW and accepts Mental Health Treatment Plans under Medicare.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll find her hiking in nature, dancing with her toddler, or getting lost in a good fantasy novel. She believes therapy should feel like a soft place to land—not another performance.
