Melbourne Integrated Therapies Values Statements

The Melbourne Integrated Therapies Values Statements are foundational to the process, practice, culture and engagement at MIT.

They have become the cornerstones for decision making and reflection. These values are interdependent, each enhancing, amplifying and illuminating the other.

Authenticity

Authenticity is the courage to present oneself genuinely, without pretense or performance. It honours the richly faceted unique parts of each of us. Authenticity is permission to be imperfect, vulnerable and real. Authenticity invites deeper connections, fostering trust. It reflects to others the value in showing up as you are as a powerful statement of honest interactions.

Inclusivity

Inclusivity honors all dimensions of human identity. it requires us to actively embrace and celebrate diversity in all its forms. Inclusivity means feeling valued, respected, and heard, fostering a safe environment where individuals can be without fear of judgment or discrimination. Inclusivity involves an ongoing commitment to educating ourselves in and about the implicit and explicit limitations of systems which marginalise people. It asks for deep listening and attentive presence in our interactions with others inviting the stories which are not yet known.

Generosity

Generosity lives in even the smallest of gestures. It is giving when one can, and creating space for others who are unable to. It exists within the ebb and flow of a person's capacity. Generosity assumes we do not know another’s motives or story before entering into curious conversation. Generosity fosters connection and community with actions of wholehearted kindness. It amplifies the wellbeing of individuals and the collective.

Collaboration

Collaborating means committing to the potential of creating an outcome that surpasses what could be achieved individually. It draws from the strengths of individuals consciously sharing in an effort to enact change. Collaboration enriches the collective through engaged action inviting differences of experience and perspective to be at the table. Collaboration is inspired co-creation.
