Hiro is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with PACFA (Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia). Hiro has extensive experience working in community mental health with the LGBTIQASB+ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Queer/Questioning, Asexual, Sistergirl and Brotherboy) community and people living with HIV.
Their lived experience being queer, non-binary, neurodivergent and mixed Japanese and white informs their work, seeing them embrace an anti-oppressive, de-colonising, neuro-affirming, trauma-informed, intersectional feminist and queer lens. They’re also a parent and enjoy supporting other queer, trans and gender diverse parents.
Hiro uses a Person-Centred, integrative counselling approach, utilising a range of counselling modality interventions best suited to the individual’s presenting concerns. These include Attachment-based Therapy, Gestalt, Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing, Mindfulness, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and other modalities where suitable.
Hiro works with people 18 years and older, providing both individual and couples and relationship counselling.
Hiro can support you with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, grief and loss, trauma, body image and eating concerns, sexuality and gender identity, ethical non-monogamy (ENM), working in the sex industry, cultural and racial identity and parenting.
Hiro is also available to provide clinical supervision.

Accepts NDIS and private health insurance with extras cover (please check with your health fund if you’re eligible for rebates).
