Jules Silva

- Clinical Psychotherapist, Counsellor, and Certified Clinical Supervisor -

Psychotherapy & Counselling
Jules is a Clinical Psychotherapist and Counsellor, Relationships Therapist, and Clinical Supervisor in private practice; working with adult individuals and couples.

Bringing rich life experience and extensive training to her work, Jules is deeply interested in all aspects of the experience and suffering that clients bring 'to the room'; with specialised training in grief and loss, trauma, existential concerns (incl. climate crisis-related and ‘uncertain world’ anxieties), emotional self-regulation, communication, and addiction.

For Jules, the work of clients is about listening deeply to a fellow human being and responding in useful ways: “Fundamental to my professional stance is to intentionally sit 'across from and with' the client, not 'expert and above’”.

Drawing on multiple modalities, tailored to the needs of the client she is working with, the key therapies/modalities drawn upon by Jules include: Existential, Jungian-Informed, Psychodynamic, Attachment Theory, Cognitive and Behavioural (CBT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed, Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) and Buddhist-informed.

Sitting face-to-face with a new client, Jules sees a unique individual looking back at her, approaching the unfolding therapeutic relationship and the work to be done with an open, respectful, non-judgemental, compassionate mind.

Couples Therapy
An experienced (Gottman) Couples Therapist, Jules works with sensitivity and respect for the experience and suffering of the unique individuals in the relationship; towards facilitation of fresh insights and a way forward for “the couple”.

A PACFA-Certified and ACA-approved Supervisor, Jules provides relational, high-integrity Clinical Supervision that meets the PACFA standard (for all PACFA and ACA registration levels); grounded in reflective practice models.
