Lee Beaton

I am an experienced psychotherapist who specializes in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, helping partners reconnect and navigate the complexities of love, intimacy, and life’s transitions. Since 2017, I have been dedicated to supporting couples to get to the heart of the issue. In breaking free from cycles of disconnection, conflict, and stress, empowering them to create stronger, more secure, and fulfilling relationships and deeper intimacy.

My therapeutic approach integrates mind, body, and spirit to foster meaningful and lasting change. I believe in normalizing the challenges all couples face, offering a non-judgmental space to explore attachment styles, coping mechanisms, and patterns of interaction. I willhelp you express the hurt, pain, and longings behind wordsand feelings that may sound critical to your partner, allowing you to truly hear each other and grow closer. I view couples counselling not as a sign of failure, but as an investment in the vitality and strength of the most important relationship in your life.

My own experiences—becoming a parent in my mid-40s, navigating a neurodiverse marriage, and seeking couples therapy myself—have deepened my empathy and commitment to this work. I treasure the joys and challenges of family life, and I will use my own personal journey to inspire and guide you towards your heart, and to nurture your own resilience.

I am particularly passionate about addressing the often-overlooked topic of sexuality in relationships. I help couples rediscover the vitality that intimacy holds. Today sensuality can be clouded by shame, societal pressures, and past conditioning. By fostering a compassionate and safe environment, I can support you in embracing your innate and powerful sexual instincts and alivenessto build bridges of trust and closeness.

As a late-diagnosed neurodivergent individual living in a neurodiverse family, I also bring a unique understanding of the interplay between neurodiversity and relationships. With over 20 years of experience in mental health and community work, I combinesprofessional expertise with personal insights, offering a sensitive, humorous, and compassionate approach.

In addition to EFT, my practice is deeply informed by Gestalt psychotherapy and somatic practices such as yoga, meditation, and movement. I believe that connecting with your embodied experience is essential for healing and growth. I want to help all my clients to tap into their innate wisdom and restore balance in their lives.

Based in Naam (Melbourne), I welcome individuals and couples from all cultures, sexualities, genders, and ages. With a commitment to mindfulness, compassion, and self-care, I will collaborate with you to co-create a space of safety and possibility, guiding you toward greater alignment, joy, and resilience in yourself and your relationships.

I am a dedicated student of the Diamond Approach, a profound integration of spiritual and psychological traditions. This path resonates deeply with my passion for exploring how psychotherapy can nurture growth, foster self-discovery, and lead to a more fulfilling life.
