Casey Hosking

I’m a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults experiencing a range of emotional, relational and life challenges. I have a particular interest in anxiety, depression, neurodivergence, difficulties with self-esteem and identity, relationship concerns, trauma, and exploring gender and sexuality.

My approach to therapy is warm, curious and collaborative. I am particularly interested in working with people who want to understand themselves more deeply, including those who feel stuck in recurring patterns, struggle with self-criticism or overthinking, are navigating neurodivergence or identity, or are trying to make sense of and recover from difficult past experiences.

I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. I work collaboratively with each person to understand what is happening in the context of their individual history, relationships, temperament, values and current circumstances. Depending on your needs, I draw from approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS) principles, compassion-focused and mindfulness-based approaches, and trauma-informed practice.

I have fifteen years of experience across mental health practice, education, and research. Alongside my clinical work, I work as a researcher focusing on improving intergenerational outcomes for families, and I am completing a PhD in suicide prevention.

Service and availability
I am currently available on Tuesdays either in-person (Thornbury) or via Telehealth between 11am and 6:30pm.

I offer individual psychological therapy and EMDR therapy for adults. Standard appointments are 50 minutes, with the option of 90-minute sessions where additional time may be helpful. Longer sessions can be particularly well suited to EMDR, but are also available for other forms of therapy where appropriate.
